I can't believe that I am only a few days away from heading to Jamestown! It really hasn't hit me yet that I am going to be running my first half marathon in only a couple days with all of my Team Challenge friends. I have been training and fundraising for a few months and it's crazy that it's almost over.
The last week or so has been so hard to keep up with my training. I almost forgot to post my update last week and am not even posting a normal one this week. I haven't been feeling 100% both in running and Crohn's-wise. I feel like I could probably sleep for a week straight right now and my legs are so heavy during my runs.
I didn't run or exercise for a few days while away this weekend for the 4th of July. Those rest days along with sitting in the car for hours long car rides had my muscles way too tight for comfort. This morning I kept debating with myself if I should keep sleeping or go run. I finally caved/convinced myself to go run. This is your last long-ish run before the race! Get it out of the way so you can relax a bit for the next few days. That 5 miles was hard. It was 5 miles. That shouldn't be hard right now! But it was. But I did it! So from here on out I plan to rest up and do maybe 2 more short runs. Then it's race day!
Can't wait to post my update after the race and tell you all about it!
Thanks for the Twitter shoutout Bioskin!
Hi, I'm Jessie!
I live in NH with my husband and our pups. My favorite things are coaching Girls on the Run, eating good food that I didn't have to cook, helping other people work on their health, volunteering for and running races, watching tv, doing yoga, and spending too much time on social media. #Balance
