When I first heard about Shakeology I was extremely skeptical and hesitant to try it. I was already very much into eating clean. Eating non-GMO and organic and eating less processed foods were very important to me. Plus I was NEVER a shake person! I am a researcher...
I immediately went to work Googling Shakeology, reading ingredient labels and reviews and blog posts galore. Even since starting to drink it I still listen to podcasts and read any new info that comes out because I still care immensely what is in what I eat!
I shared this on my Instagram and personal Facebook last week and it had a great response. People seemed happy to see that someone other than themselves struggled with bloating and I got private messages thanking me for posting it. So I thought I should share with the blog as well!
These pictures are from before bed last night [May 6th], when I woke up this morning [May 7th], then this evening after working out.
Last night I ate a bunch of crappy foods. I bloat easily when things that don't agree with me. So I can take a picture one night and look like I might be pregnant and take one the next night where you can clearly see my obliques.
Our bodies change every single day. Even throughout only one day. It does you no good to obsess over how you look or how much you weigh. If you are measuring yourself or weighing yourself more than once a day you are doing more harm than good.
The harm you are doing is mental. You are so focused on what you want to see that you aren't appreciating how you have already improved. Or if you haven't made a change yet, you are making yourself guilty instead of taking action. You are putting unnecessary pressure and stress on yourself either way.
Accept that your body is a living breathing thing that is reacting to every food you eat, liquid you drink and physical activity you do (or don't do).
Make it your goal to think about everything you eat and drink and your activity level as a factor of how much your body will like it. Is this food/drink/activity going to improve my health or decrease my health? It's as simple as that. Do more things that increase your health and less things that decrease your health.
Yesterday was World IBD Day and I used the day to send out pictures on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter all about that. It was also the last day to donate $15+ to enter the raffle for donators.
