A couple weeks ago I tackled my first trail race in ages. My first 5K was a trail race and I often ran or walked in the woods when living with my parents, but I never trail run anymore! I have been eyeballing this race since I moved nearby and I'm so glad I finally made it!
Vulcan's Fury: Highly Recommend
This race is within Pawtuckaway State Park, running on sections of single track trails, sections of larger trail, and a short distance of paved road. There are lots of ups and downs, roots, rocks, and sometimes...BEES!
Last weekend we welcomed a new 4 legged friend to our family! WELCOME HOME BRISTOL!
3 weeks ago was Clear the Shelter Day in New Hampshire and I posted on Facebook that maybe we should get a new friend for Diesel...mostly since it was Clear the Shelter Day and I was seeing dogs on Facebook all day!
The next day Mike sent me links to two dogs on Petfinder. I didn't look too seriously at them, but that afternoon when he said he wanted to email the rescue, I said go for it.
Fast forward three weeks and here she is! All the way from Georgia!
I've been trying to write this for a week now...It still doesn't seem real.
I ran the Boston Marathon!
I had big fears going into this race. BIG FEARS. I was afraid of my feet and my legs (getting injured). I was afraid of the weather (overheating). I was afraid of not finishing (what I thought would mean failing).
I felt pressure from so many people watching me, both in person and online. What if I choked in front of all of them?
But I was also extremely excited! Boston is an iconic race and living in the area makes it feel both like my hometown race and the prestigious HONOR that it is to run.
That's something that I don't think a lot of non-runners realize. The true honor that it is to run this race. (I had no idea about this before I ran.)
Monthly meet up - Month 2! This one doubled as a meet up and a fundraising event for CCFA and it was SO FUN! We had a small private aerial yoga class at Kama Fitness where we got to do inversions and the poses I think are really fun! We were all having a great time and were all a little bit daring, so we just kept moving on to better and better stuff :)
I am secretly (or not so secretly) obsessed with psychics/mediums, etc BUT I had never been to one. I mostly just watched every single medium show on TV and have been learning more and more about all things spiritual. I was kind of afraid to go to a psychic or a medium because I was unsure of what they'd say. I wasn't sure if I should go alone or with someone. I was just NERVOUS!
I found out about a series of psychic fairs in New Hampshire and was planning on going to one this weekend with my sister and some friends. Schedules didn't work out and I was going to have to go alone. Should I still go? Should I save the money? Should I avoid the thing that makes me nervous?
And I had two very different types of readings.
Hi, I'm Jessie!
I live in NH with my husband and our pups. My favorite things are coaching Girls on the Run, eating good food that I didn't have to cook, helping other people work on their health, volunteering for and running races, watching tv, doing yoga, and spending too much time on social media. #Balance
