Monthly meet up - Month 2! This one doubled as a meet up and a fundraising event for CCFA and it was SO FUN! We had a small private aerial yoga class at Kama Fitness where we got to do inversions and the poses I think are really fun! We were all having a great time and were all a little bit daring, so we just kept moving on to better and better stuff :)
Our class was a hodgepodge of people - my sister, a local friend, a friend from Team Challenge, two girls I hadn't met before (one of which even has Crohn's! A new Crohnie friend, yay!) and of course our instructor, Karlene! Such a random group of ladies and we were all hanging out, hanging upside down, having a great time together.
You start off aerial yoga classes pretty slow and easy. You need to warm up and get used to how the fabric feels as it holds you up, especially if it's your first class, or first class in a while.
Before you know it, you're fully in the fabric or even upside down!
I LOVE aerial yoga because it's as easy or challenging as you want. On days that I'm feeling strong or daring I can do more difficult poses. On days that I'm sore or feeling off I can stick more to stretching or using the hammock like a huge strap (even if the rest of the class is doing something harder). A lot of the girls were nervous at the beginning of class because they had never been before, but every one of them LOVED it!
Don't let your fear stop you from trying new things!
Especially aerial yoga. Because you get to end class in a cocoon and take a nap after an awesome workout with friends :)
Hi, I'm Jessie!
I live in NH with my husband and our pups. My favorite things are coaching Girls on the Run, eating good food that I didn't have to cook, helping other people work on their health, volunteering for and running races, watching tv, doing yoga, and spending too much time on social media. #Balance
