I have been having this weird problem for the last three 5Ks I ran.
I don't show up in the race results! What the heck!
At least I use Nike+ during my races, so I have an idea of what my time was.
I haven't been running much for the past 2-3 weeks since we got a dog. I feel bad leaving her home alone to go run after she was alone while we were at work. Eventually she can run with me, but we aren't ready for that yet! This was also my first cold weather race of the year. Gloves were worn. They were removed after a mile, but they were worn!
Formal Race Review:
Memorial School 5K Run or Walk
Memorial School, Newton NH
Entry Fee: $15, $20 Race Day
Parking: There was parking at the elementary school, middle school next door and church across the street. No problems, except for the fact they they apparently wanted all the cars to move where my mom and I parked so they could set up some more vendors there. But we were in the middle of running a race and couldn't move the car/didn't know anyone wanted us to move the car! A police officer told us someone told him to have it towed! That didn't happen and all was well in the world.
Registration/Timing: I registered the day of and there was no line at all. I still got t-shirt even with last second race day sign up, which is nice! As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, no official time! I looked the race up on coolrunning.com today and I am nowhere to be seen! My mom is listed, but she pre-registered. Oh well, I guess I will just have to use my Nike+ time. It is pretty close to the same, just I never remember to turn it right off. I always walk around cooling down for a minute before I remember to shut off my app.
Facilities: I didn't see any Porta Potties, but I didn't need one either. There must have been bathrooms available somewhere because after the race was Newton Day with vendors and activities.
Course: This course was pretty confusing. There were a lot of random loops around cul-de-sacs and spots where people weren't sure which direction to go. There were little signs with arrows and volunteers directing people at some corners, but people seemed to be missing some turns.
Most of the course was flat. There were 3 hills, but they weren't huge.
Post-Race: There was water, bananas, apples, granola bars, donuts, lots of good stuff! I love a nice after race spread :)
Overall Review: I love a good small, home-town, impromptu race day sign up! Not having to drive far (3 mins?!) and getting t-shirt to add to my collection. Always fun to go back to my old school and see old faces.
Final Verdict: As long as I live nearby I will return :)

Hi, I'm Jessie!
I live in NH with my husband and our pups. My favorite things are coaching Girls on the Run, eating good food that I didn't have to cook, helping other people work on their health, volunteering for and running races, watching tv, doing yoga, and spending too much time on social media. #Balance
