Millennium Mile is a downhill point to point race on a wicked fast course. Last year it was my second race I ever ran. Both of the races were 1 mile each and I finished the 2014 Millennium Mile is 8:13. This year I finished it in 6:57 with a new PR!!!
So excited! And so proud of how far I have come in one year of running.
Formal Race Review
Londonderry High School, Londonderry NH
Parking: There is a huge parking lot at the high school. No issues :)
Registration/Timing: Bib pick up was inside the high school's gym. It is awesome to have an indoor meeting place for winter races.
Millennium Running races have the best timing/results station set up. Of course they have the finish line clock, but then once you get back to the gym you can go to the Results Tent. The have the results scrolling on a TV monitor but they also have a personalized results line. In the personalized line you tell the volunteer your bib number, they type it into a computer and your official results come up on the screen. Love that!
Facilities: Since we were in the gym there were bathrooms inside. The woman's bathroom was bigger so the line went quickly :)
Course: This course is awesomely fast! The only thing that kind of stinks is that it is an out and back. It is nice when you are running because it's a straight shot and after the initial ~1/8 mile it's all downhill. The out and back only stinks after you finish and you have to walk back! Last year it was way colder outside so it stunk and I had to run back to keep warm, but this year it wasn't as bad and I just walked back, basking in the glory of my new PR! :-P
Overall Review: I love this race! I tried to recruit so many people to do it this year but was only able to find one person who signed up.
Final Verdict: LOVE. I plan to come back every year and see how I improve!
Official Net Time: 6:57
Hi, I'm Jessie!
I live in NH with my husband and our pups. My favorite things are coaching Girls on the Run, eating good food that I didn't have to cook, helping other people work on their health, volunteering for and running races, watching tv, doing yoga, and spending too much time on social media. #Balance
