Sooo I am wicked behind on my race recaps! I have run 5 races and only recapped 1 so far this year! Time to fix that!
Race #2 of the year was Snowflake Shuffle. Last year this was the first time I had run 3 miles so I was really nervous for it, but did pretty well still. It's crazy how far you can come in one year!
My Instagram caption from post-race: "Very happy! I went into this race with zero expectations since I haven't been running that much lately. I did just start reading Chi Running and today I focused a lot on my forward lean and letting that really pull me forward. This is a 3 mile, not a 5K, technically. But my 5k PR is 27:03 from June"
Formal Race Review
Copper Door Restaurant, Bedford NH
Parking: Parking is kind of difficult for this race. I parked along the street near the start/finish. There is also a parking lot near the start/finish and a shuffle from Bedford High School.
Registration/Timing: I picked my bib up on race day. There was early bib pick up but I didn't go to it, so no review there! It was quick and easy on race day. I'm guessing most people went to the early pick up...nice for me!
Millennium Running races have the best timing/results station set up. Of course they have the finish line clock, but then near the finish line you can go to the Results Tent. The have the results scrolling on a TV monitor but they also have a personalized results line. In the personalized line you tell the volunteer your bib number, they type it into a computer and your official results come up on the screen. Love it!
Facilities: I'm not exactly sure on this one! I waited too long to do this recap!
Course: The course is kind of a lollipop loop. Pretty flat, with a few small hills. The one hill that was hard for me is at mile 2. If you are pushing yourself you are starting to run out of steam at that point.
Swag: A Millennium running sweatshirt! My favorite swag of all the swags. I wear the sweatshirt from this year or last year 99% of the time.
Post-race food from Copper Door Restaurant was delicious! Pasta, bread, cookies and hot chocolate on top of the normal water & sports drinks.
Overall Review: I really like this race. It's pretty big, but I doesn't seem that crowded while running. I was able to get right out of the finish line area and not trapped in a sea of people trying to catch my breath. Post-race food and swag is awesome. Millennium Running always puts on great events. Very organized and always start right on time.
Will I Return? I plan on coming to this race forever so I can accumulate mass amounts of Millennium Running sweatshirts!

I'm happy with that time improvement!
