This week was wicked busy with work events that went late, so I had a lot of "rest days." They were actually exhausting. I just didn't exercise.
Monday: Work event = Red Sox game. Wicked fun, but I didn't get home until pretty late. I babysat before work, went to work, then went to the game, so I was gone from 6:30am-11:30pm. That was a long day. I also didn't get to go the Monday night run at Flatbread Hampton since I was busy going to the game! They held down the raffle ticket fort for me.
Tuesday: My gym buddy was running a little late, so I decided to go on a quick run while I was waiting for her. I don't know why I did this. It was the hottest, muggiest day so far this year. So I decided to go run my fastest mile ever (8:09). At least I was semi-smart and only ran 1 mile. Then I met her at the gym where I went on the bike for 3.5 miles and then did some core work.
Wednesday: This was another work event day. I babysat before work, worked, then went to our annual dinner. Out from 6:30am-10:45pm. Totally worth it because owner-boss got me and manager-boss these sweet shirts.
Thursday: Zero exercise. I went to the movies with my husband and friends to see 22 Jump Street. Hilarious. Go see it. Unless you don't like funny movies.
Friday: Slacked again! Just hung out with friends and had a true rest day!
Saturday: I didn't go to my Team Challenge group run because they were meeting at the location that is farthest away from my house, but I still got it done...10 miles! All alone, with no music. I went all over the place because 10 miles is far! It was really, really hot and sunny, so my time on the trails was nice. I never run out of water if I bring my full sized CamelBak bottle, but I was out during this run! I was the most exhausted I have ever been on a run. My legs felt so heavy by the end. I even stopped halfway through and ate a few peanut butter crackers to refuel. I really hope it isn't this hot on race day!
Here are my millions of pictures. There is a lot of stuff to take pics of on a 10 mile run!
Sunday: Today I am resting/not resting. I have worked in the garden, watering, weeding, planting, transplanting. I have done laundry/cleaning all day and I washed my car. I would say that I am doing what my training schedule says for the day after my long run: Active Recovery.
Total Weekly Mileage: 11
Number of Runs: 2
^ That's pretty low. Let's see how next week goes!
Hi, I'm Jessie!
I live in NH with my husband and our pups. My favorite things are coaching Girls on the Run, eating good food that I didn't have to cook, helping other people work on their health, volunteering for and running races, watching tv, doing yoga, and spending too much time on social media. #Balance
