Sunday: I was going to meet the Exeter Run Club again this week, but I wouldn't have made it there on time. So I went out on my 8 mile long run by myself. It was so hot out! I was zigzagging around the street trying to stay in the shade and dumping water on my head constantly. This was also my first run trying out my Camelbak fuel belt that I have had for about a year now. I liked having a full water bottle and being able to stick my keys and phone in there and not have to wear my armband. But the belt kept loosening over and over, so I think I am going to have to customize it to make it stay in place better.
Then I drank some chocolate milk. #GetInMyBelly
Monday: No working out or running for me. I went to the Hampton Flatbread group run, but stayed at the restaurant to get some work done while everyone else was running. I needed to rest the day after my longest run anyway!
Tuesday: Tuesday I went to the gym for a treadmill run and some weights. Treadmill runs largely suck.
Wednesday: I bailed on my gym buddy because I didn't feel like going out. I did workout a home with some ToneItUp videos! I love doing videos from YouTube when I'm too lazy to leave the house!
Thursday: Leg Day back at the gym. Still no running. Me and my friend did squats for the first time and felt super cool.
Friday: Rest Day. I was so busy babysitting, working, babysitting again then being a DD. Got home late, had to get up super early to head to my group run.
Saturday: I finally made it back to a Team Challenge group run! I love when I go, but it is so hard to get out of bed early on a Saturday morning and drive an hour to run! It was a drizzly gross morning, but it was kind of nice that it wasn't super hot and sunny for my new longest run ever....9 miles! I am getting there! It is still so amazing to me that I was only able to run 1 mile 6 months ago. And I am starting to feel confident that I will be able to run the whole half marathon without collapsing.
A teammate of mine is selling custom shoe tags as part of her Team Challenge fundraising to benefit the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America. Mine came in and she gave them to me this weekend! I'm so excited to put these babies on!
Oh yeah! Can't forget the part where I got out of the car at my group run and my pants were on inside out! Don't get dressed in the dark.
Sunday: Sunday was Father's Day and I was running around all day with my husband. (Not actually running....) Once again no working out. This week had lots of rest days! See ya next week!
Hi, I'm Jessie!
I live in NH with my husband and our pups. My favorite things are coaching Girls on the Run, eating good food that I didn't have to cook, helping other people work on their health, volunteering for and running races, watching tv, doing yoga, and spending too much time on social media. #Balance
